John Jasperse – Canyon
Sometimes our artists-in-residence use their time here to put the finishing touches on a piece right before its premiere. When that’s the timing, work-in-progress showings become more of a pre-premiere — you get to see what is essentially a finished work.
Such will be the case on Saturday, August 27, at 8 PM when choreographer John Jasperse presents his work-in-progress showing of Canyon which will premiere in September at the Philly Fringe Festival. Canyon will have its New York premier at BAM’s 2011 Next Wave Festival on November 14th-19th. The work includes music by Hahn Rowe, visual design by Tony Orrico and lighting by James Clotfelter.
